    Prep

The first day of school was obviously the most exciting. My teacher’s name was Miss Gasbarre. Along with her I made plenty of friends being Luke,Ethan,Massimo and Luca. There’s a random memory that appears in my head, on the first day when we were doing circle time, (a time when we sat in a circle and ate our lunch) my friend Luca came up to me with 2 plastic cap guns and asked me if I wanted to play with him at lunch. Before I could reply my answer (which was yes) Miss Gasbarre saw Luca with the cap guns and was not happy. They had to have a talk with his mum and the principle. Well that started off my year with a BANG.
    …Get it?
The cap guns go BANG xD

    Year 1.

In year 1 I got dogged out. All my friends got with Miss Gasbarre except for me. Well we all know what that means right? Yup you guessed it. Time to make new friends! I quickly made friends with a couple of boys named Joel, Benson and Danny. They were all great friends but the teacher wasn’t so great. My teacher’s name was Miss Cockaine. Yeah I know what you’re thinking. She was the worst teacher, not fit for the job. She was old, retirement age, and often fell asleep in class. So there was a pretty funny moment I remember. I had to go to the toilet and I asked Miss Cockaine and she said no. I was fed up with her and I decided to use her leg as a toilet. After that she always let me go to the toilet.

In Prep I remember my very first day, there was so many new faces, but one face I really remembered was my bestie Lawrence. I had just walked in and started playing with the Lego, and next to me was Lawrence, he was busy making a car, and we’ve been friends ever since.
My teacher was Miss. Flaherty, she was nice and also had the same name last name my Pa. I thought we may have been related but I soon found out we weren’t.
I remember my Year Six Buddy Lewis Schoben, on Jump Rope for Heart Day he taught me how to skip. It was a great day.

I remember the first day of school I didn’t know many people in my class, but me and Liam were best friends. My teacher was Mrs Vandawert. My prep buddie was Josh Grereara. I can remember that on the second day of school I got an ear infection and had two days off school. Prep was more about meeting new people rather then learning in my point of view and I think that made it fun.

I remember I was very excited about starting Prep, I had been to the school so many times with mum because my older sister Ellen was already there. My teachers name was Mrs Boyd, she was so kind and loving and was always happy to see me. The other great thing about Prep was being with my friends from Kinder James, Max and Jai and we are still the best of friends in Grade 6.

Even though it was hard to leave Mrs Boyd, going into grade 1 was a new challenge. Mrs Scarcella was my teacher and she helped me so much. Mrs Scarcella was the one who worked out I had a learning disabilty and told my mum straight away so we could put a plan in place to help with my learning. Mum always says that Mrs Scarcella was the best thing that ever happened to me and without her I wouldn’t be the young man I am today.

Getting my photos taken in front of my house the nerves and excitement ran through my body. Lucky enough I was able to share my big day with my older brother Jack, my two older cousins Bree and Luke and my auntie teaching at the school, Jeanine Sutherland.

I had been to the school many times before when I came to drop off and pick up my brother. I had a great teacher named Mrs Boyde who was obsessed with Disney, Mickey Mouse and Minnie Mouse. She was always so kind and loving to see me. Not only having a great teacher I also have the pleasure of a fantastic year six buddy at the same time. Her name was Emily Harris and she was the school captain.

When coming into Prep I didn’t know anyone apart from my family at the school. My friends in prep were Lucy Bartlett, Kate Evans, Aleisha Wells, Lexie Crain and Eliza Bell. Eliza unfortunately left the school at the end of the year. I am still best friends with Kate, Lucy and Aleisha to this day.

In Prep I went to the aquarium for a school excursion. I remember playing on the playground at playlunch and lunch time with my friends. I used to be scared of going on the wobbly bridge.

Leaving my Prep class at the end of the year was hard as I admired my teacher Mrs Boyde very much and made close relationships with my classmates. Prep was a very exciting year for me as I was able to learn how to read and write and make many new friends.
